You have to love those instant gratification projects!

I made a cap for my cousin for Christmas. He loved it. He is one of those free spirits that loves to run around with a hat on all day. He was so excited to have a hand made gift. He went on and on about how he could not believe I made it. It was so cool in his eyes. Those are the people you love to knit for! Well someone else loved his hat as much as he did. He wore it to work and someone stole it. Lucky for him, I had bought some yummy yarn at Charities and had enough to make a second hat! Better yet - I used the chemo cap pattern and it only took me 3 hours to make. You have to love those instant gratification projects!

Winter Wonder Land - really again?!@?

I LOVE THE SNOW - EVEN TODAY! But enough already! It is so beautiful outside. I love the look. But it has literally snowed every week since Thanksgiving. I WANT SPRING - think spring. I am working on my 2nd pair of socks. I love the yarn - I bought it has Charities in Altoona. It looks like an Andies Mint - brown's and green's. I did a simple 3x2 rib. It is knitting up fast. I tend to only work on it during my 15 minute break from my part time job and sometimes on my lunch hour at school. I love how small it is - it takes up little room in my purse and I can see progress only after 15 minutes! I told myself that I would not go to knitting yesterday until I did 3 loads of laundry and cleaned my kitchen. Well I went to knitting and I all I did was clean my bedroom (that started because I needed to get out all of the clothes!) and my bathroom (same as before - clothes). Can you see my problem - L - A- Z- Y!!! The clothes are out - the rooms are dusted and swept. They look great! Clean - makes me WANT to be in them. They are 2 of my favorite rooms! I love how Liz plays around with her blog - new looks and all. I promise myself that I am going to master flickr over spring break! I want a cool website - plus I like technology - keep up with the times!

It's been a long time!

Well I have to admit that it has been a long time - a month since I last posted. It has something to do with NOT BEING ABLE TO REMEMBER MY USERNAME/PASSWORD. Let me tell you - my life revolves around usernames and passwords. I have TRIED to make sure to use the same one or add a number to help it out but really in this day in age it is IMPOSSIBLE to have only one username and password, companies are making it extremly difficult. It has to 6 characters, it has to be at least 8 charachers, it needs alpha and numbers, it expires in 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, can only be used once every 12 passwords. GIVE ME A BREAK!! This is not government work -- and don't get me started on the new postal machine at Dahl's - now that is our government at it's best. Take a simple task like adding postage to an envelope and make you go through 6 screens just to get the silly thing to print the overpriced postage! Enough bitching! I have been knitting up a storm. I have FINALLY finished my reversible scarf. It was a gift - a gift of love and pain. I worked on that thing for 3 months off and on. I think I took out more than I ever knitted. It is not as long as I would like but I finally called it done before I threw it across the room! I made 2 hats to sort of match it. The first one was too small. I found the pattern on ravelry - Anna Green Cable Hat. Instead of making a rib stitch, I did seed stitch to match the scarf. They were a hit for my secret pal at school. I have also been working on my Log Cabin blanket from Mason Dixon. It has been a nice warm project to work on during the artic blast we have been experiencing. I have also started my second pair of socks. This time using the magic loop. They are moving along very quickly. I am taking sock making slowly - a very simple 3X2 rib. I love how fast they are working up. The teachers at school are curious on why I would ever want to MAKE socks. I tell them it is a test of my patiences. I actually had a teacher laugh out loud! She is a good friend!

I am supposed to be dieting and exercising but that has not happened. I have not gained any weight but I have not lost any either! I AM giving up pepsi. It will be hard but I have to do it. It is my new thing. I hope to give up caffaine all together but I am not sure if I can cross that road yet. Time will tell.
